Winter is Coming for Big BearMountain Resorts

I was excited to see this article post in The Press-Enterprise. The Big Bear mountain resorts are gearing up for the winter season.  Our family is looking forward to some quality time spent sleddding in our backyard, making snow angels with our little ones, and having a good old-fashioned snow ball fight. Hopefully too we can take our 4 1/2 yr old out on the ski slopes so she can learn how to ski.

Article: Big Bear is a cool escape

Pretty cool article from OCRegister by Gary A. Warner. Agree that Big Bear is a great weekend escape from the city in Southern California. Just think, a 2 hour drive takes you from the city to the mountains and mother nature.

We've Got a Piano to Give Away

Free upright piano and bench to anyone who is willing to come and haul it away. This piano has been sitting our house for years and not being used. We would love it if it goes to a good home and someone else gets good use out of it. It will need a tune-up but it is probably in pretty good condition otherwise. The bench upholsterey is a little faded but nothing that can't be updated.

We will be home & available Sun Oct 10 so that's when we are hoping the piano can be picked up.

Big Bear Film Fest

The Big Bear Lake International Film Festival will be starting up Sept 17th with three days of screenings. This is the eleventh year the event has been going on.

Apparently it has been voted one of the 25 film festivals worth going to. Plus, you get the added benefit of being in the mountains.

Renaissance Faire in Big Bear, CA!!

Turns out there's a Renaissance Faire happenning Aug 21-22 in Big Bear, CA. There will be shows, children's activities, and food (my personal favorite is the turkey leg a la Henry VIII).

We've gone to them before with our children and they seem to have a good time. Its a great educational opportunity and way for them to live a little history.

Details can be found here: www.bbvrsinc.org
